The Langenberg Leadership Forum – Fall 2021

A program for business and organizational leaders these were originally held as breakfast meetings. Given the challenges of the COVID pandemic, we suspended the breakfasts. Fortunately, we were able to interview three of our planned speakers. Their bios and a link to the interviews are below:  


Chris Krehmeyer currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Beyond Housing in St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Krehmeyer has been a highly-recognized national and local leader in the community development field for more than 30 years, having served as board chair for both the National NeighborWorks® Association and Home Matters. Mr. Krehmeyer has received several distinguished service awards in the St. Louis area and is a member of the Community Housing Capital Loan Committee. Mr. Krehmeyer earned a bachelor’s degree, in Urban Studies, from Washington University and an Honorary Doctorate of Human Letter Letters, from Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Missouri, St. Louis.

Tishaura Jones announced her candidacy for mayor of the City of St. Louis on November 4, 2020. Her political career began in 2002 when she was appointed as Democratic Committeewoman of the 8th Ward in the City of St. Louis. She has recently served for two terms in the Missouri House of Representatives, and when selected by her colleagues as the Assistant Minority Floor Leader, became the first African-American and the first woman to hold this position in Missouri history. This interview occurred before now Mayor Jones became St. Louis’ first African-American woman to be elected mayor.

Jennifer Hillman is an innovator, a community leader, a graphic artist, a devoted member of her family, and a source of wisdom for many in the St. Louis community.  Some of her recent efforts include the launch of the WE Schools program in Missouri, the founding of the Hillman Scholar program for first-generation college students, and work to support the Cancer Frontier Fund at the Siteman Cancer Center. The support that she and Tom have given over the years to the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University was recognized through the naming of its newest building as Hillman Hall.
